Responding to the Prime Minister’s threats to pull the Withdrawal Bill, Liberal Democrat Shadow Brexit Secretary, Tom Brake, said:
“The Tory government’s threat to pull the Withdrawal Agreement Bill, if they lose the vote on their rushed timetable, is childish blackmail.
“MPs shouldn’t be bullied into voting in favour of this ridiculously short timetable.
“Boris Johnson is trying to rush through this bad Brexit deal without proper scrutiny. Liberal Democrats are clear that there is no deal that is as good as the one we have now, in the EU.
“We will continue to fight to give the people the final say through a People’s Vote with the option to stay in the EU.”
