The Queens Speech is nothing more than a Tory party manifesto that will do nothing but damage our country. It is an election gimmick.
Today is a distraction from the fact that Boris Johnson is pursuing a Brexit deal that will be hugely damaging for our economy, our NHS and our security.
There is no form of Brexit that will be good for our country. There is no deal that will ever be as good as the one we currently have as members of the European Union.
There will be nothing in this Queen’s speech that will bring comfort to the factory worker set to lose their job, or the families struggling to put food on the table because of his Brexit policy.
The Liberal Democrats demand better. We will continue to fight to stop Brexit and secure a People’s Vote, with the option to remain in the European Union.
