Responding to Rishi Sunak’s morning round where he refused to back calls for an NHS funding boost, Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader and Health Spokesperson Daisy Cooper MP said:
“Ruling out new funding for the NHS in the crisis of a lifetime is not just shameful but utterly out of touch. But the wider problem is Rishi Sunak just doesn’t seem to have a plan.
“If we are to avoid the complete collapse of the health service, it should be clear as day that we need more funding to pay for fair pay and a solution to the social care crisis.
“The Prime Minister should be working day and night to find a solution to end the strikes, not hitting the airwaves ruling out vital support and real solutions.”
